10 Traditional Market Revitalization in Jakarta will Be Finished This Year

10 traditional markets in several areas of Jakarta are ensured to be finished this year. Market revitalization is done gradually while adjusting the market condition and fund availability.

PD. Pasar Jaya President Director, Arief Nasrudin said, 47 traditional markets are still in severe damage condition. Since 2014 until 2018, revitalization is focused on 35 markets.

"Total 10 market revitalization will be finished this year. While the revitalization of another 35 markets are still on progress," he said at City Hall, Tuesday (7/4).

He mentioned the 10 market revitalization that will be finished this year are Walang Baru Market, Sinar Market, Bidadari Market, Karbela Market, Cawang Kavling Market, Pelita Market, Waru Market, Jembatan Merah Market, UPB Kramat Jati Market, and UPB Cipulir Market. It is recorded 15 markets have been revitalized in 2014. While in 2016, 7 markets also have been revitalized.

"Actually, 20 markets were planned to be revitalized in 2016. But it could not be done fast due to City Budget availability that can only be obtained gradually," he expressed.

He informed the budget to revitalize 20 markets is Rp 270 billion. While for another 15 markets are budgeted Rp 170 billion.

"After 35 markets are finished to be revitalized, we will work on another 12 damaged markets. We targeted to finish it all until 2019," he closed.
